Translations

I've been freelancing as a translator since 2007 and specialize in Japanese to Dutch and Japanese to English translations of materials related to manga, Japanese pop culture, and information technology. Although I spend quite a lot of time on academic and other articles related to manga these days, translating manga themselves is the most fun, of course. Titles I've worked on include:

'Fruits Basket'(translator up to volume 7, translation editor after that)

'Battle Angel Alita' (translator from volume 3 on)
'20th Century Boys' (translator from volume 3 on)
'Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind' (translator from volume 3 on)

All of the above are being published by Glénat Benelux. For Epo publishing, I'm currently working on 'Manga de Dokuha', a series of manga versions of some fifty classics of world literature. The first volumes will be hitting the shelves this fall:

The J-Com translators collective, which I'm a member of, includes several other fine people specializing in Japanese literature, education, and information technology, among others.
